With about 18 months till the inaugural Austin Grand Prix, we have decided to take a look at the comparison to what is about to come back to the country fighting for the top spot for America's favourite motor sport. Still being 18 months or so away, we can already see the emergence of amazing pages like Come and Race It and The Austin Grand Prix that are promoting the race and spreading awareness and raising support for the return of the Formula One United States Grand Prix™.
Over the next few days (in conjunction with F1 news) we will be comparing Formula One to NASCAR. This is not meant to degrade or ridicule the NASCAR motor sport in any way but to hopefully shed light on the returning one. We hope to give the new generation of motorsport fans in the US some light as to why Formula One is so large world wide. And maybe, we can also provide a new insight into the NASCAR world to the F1 community and make a few fans out of some of you.
Most people think that you can either love NASCAR or you can love Formula One. Why not both? Looking at the bigger picture of each sport, they really are not that different. Yes, for those who don't know either sport would say that they look worlds apart but examining the setup and layout, they are quite similar.
I'm looking forward to this discussion!
