And Media Breakers!

After writing about the Media Makers, I had to continue on about the media shakers (a.k.a. bloggers).  As easy as it is for Formula One teams to log onto Twitter or Facebook, a new breed of 'journalists' have been born.

Free online platforms now host individual sites where these 'journalists' write.  Most people will call them bloggers, but I am for certain that many people will read through these articles before picking up the paper.  There are thousands of blogs out there and the talk about everything.  But once you get the hang of searching through them, there are some pretty brilliant writers out there that are just waiting to be discovered.

To save you a bit of time, let me break down a list of a few of the best blogs that I have come across!

Being the pinnacle of all motorsports, there are quite a few technical regulations as well as technology used on the cars.  Here at Girls Like F1 Too, we try and take the information and make it as easy as possible to understand. What I figure is if I don't get it, I am sure that there are a few others that don't either.  But the best place for unedited tech-talk would be, without a doubt, Scarbs F1. As a wordpress site, the writer has taken blogging to a whole new level.  Any technical changes to cars and they would be the first to dissect it.

With the world of Formula One set in such a prestigious atmosphere, many people may forget that the driver's and teams are just like you and me.  They have their good days and their bad.  Some of the driver's a quite serious as others are what we call 'class clowns'.  WTF1 has decided to take a new stance and remind them as well as the fans that F1 drivers can get into as much mischief as you and I!

Now if you've read through the article Media Makers, we can see how easy it is to stay in touch with your favourite team or driver in all forms of social networking.  But also with with the teams and driver's you are able to find many of the other people that work in the industry.  One of the best parts of having the pleasure of meeting all of these people is that they can give you an insight into the world that many only dream of.  Kayleigh's Bits & Pieces, written by a Formula One employee and one of the best reads that I happened across after mentioning Kayleigh in an earlier article (F1: Women Do Work Part 2).  Not only do the team paddock employee's write (and read) the blogs but so do some of the 'better halves', like F1 W.A.G.

If you are interested in finding out what a woman may have to say in a male dominated industry, look no further.  Though you may not see too many, well, if any female presence behind the wheel of a Formula One car, we do make our presence known in the blogging world.  Some of the best sites without a doubt, run and written by women (past Girls Like F1 Too) and are worth subscribing too are RookieF1 and  One Of The Boys.  Both well written and unique. And considering both Media Makers... and Media Breakers are ideas that have spawned from articles on these two blog site.

When you go looking for a few blogs to subscribe to, don't do what I fell victim too. Don't follow them all, take your time and read through a few. Make sure that the writer's are not just re-writing yesterdays news and are original an sometimes funny.
