Yes, over all the Yas Marina Abu Dhabi was one of the most boring races that have occurred all year. From the second after the incident between Michael Schumacher and Vitantonio Liuzzi, nothing had me glued to the television until Lap 54. I was watching the impossible happen. The young Sebastian Vettel was about to cross the checkered flag and the world would hold it's breath until Ferdinado Alonso and Mark Webber crossed as well. I could hear that Sebastian Vettel had no idea in the radio transmission in his victory lap that he may have just won the Driver's Title for 2010. With thoughts of the 2008 season conclusion in mind, no one would whisper the idea into Vettel's radio in fear that it would jinx the title.
The moment that Robert Kubica's Renault crossed the checkered flag the Red Bull Racing team erupted into a joyous outburst that they had come so far in the last six years to take home the ultimate one, two. Only to advise their driver seconds later who broke down in tears over the team radio.
Six years, 108 races and now on to 2011 with the highest spirits and acclamations of any team. Let's bring it!

It was fantastic. We were surrounded by Ferrari fans in pub and held our breath for the last two or three laps. When Sebastian finally made it we didn't make a sound, waiting for Kubica to finish fifth. And then was the joy! I never thought some sport team could make my day so happy ;)
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that looked clever yesterday and doesn't today: Jack Daniels with Red Bull. I'd prefer never to mix them ;)
The Vet did it! I didn't expect this at all, I'm very happy! :)
