Vettel Sees His Future At Ferrari

iMust to the dismay of many Red Bull Racing and Sebastian Vettel fans, a story has hit the papers.

"Sebastian Vettel has admitted he sees his Formula One future in the red of Ferrari"

The new world champion enjoyed a dominant season in his Red Bull RB6, taking ten pole positions and winning five grands prix. Nonetheless, Vettel hinted he would like to drive for the legendary Italian team or Mercedes after seeing out his current contract.

"No question, it is my wish and goal to drive for Ferrari one day," Vettel told, "Or Mercedes, another legendary brand. But right now I'm happy. I have two more years of contract with Red Bull and we have big plans."

After spending the weekend with his idol and friend Michael Schumacher at the Race Of Champions,

"Obviously he [Schumacher] told me what kind of special moments he experienced driving for Ferrari or Mercedes," Vettel wrote in his column in Bild"Both brands are the past, present and certainly the future of Formula One.

"Every driver dreams of Ferrari and Mercedes. If one ever ends up driving for them depends on a number of things. Everything must fit together. The myth alone is not enough.

"But this is still a long way away. My next aim is to defend the title with Red Bull."

What I ask is, isn't a dream of any young driver, German or not, that joins Formula One to driver for Ferrari? Even if in 2010 they were not at the top of the league?  To wear the driver's suit with the colour of it's own name sake is just something that all driver's dream of?

This is a future that as a Sebastian Vettel fan, you will have to prepare for.   Dietrich Mateschitz quoted on saying that in the event Red Bull could not provide Vettel with competitive equipment, the team would not stand in his way: "We would let him go even if he had a contract,"

“From the outside it is difficult to imagine the satisfaction of being part of a team as great as Ferrari. Red Bull? I don't keep it in my fridge because I don't like it,” Alonso told the media when asked about it.

"The problem with teams like Red Bull and Renault is that one cannot expect them to deliver each and every year. Just like Renault, a champion winning team is once again now back to its middle running status. There are chances that Red Bull might deteriorate as well and eventually return to where they started from."
