Coming in a close 0:04 seconds behind Hulkenberg was Sauber's Sergio Perez. With a near full day of running, it wasn't until the last 5 minutes of running that Perez's C31 was forced into pits with an exhaust problem.
With the luck (bad a sit may be) following the paddock from Jerez to Barcelona, day two at Circuit de Catalunya saw two red flags on track.
With the luck (bad a sit may be) following the paddock from Jerez to Barcelona, day two at Circuit de Catalunya saw two red flags on track.
The first of the two red flags was brought out with Daniel Ricciardo but it did not keep him off track long. The second one (also caused by Ricciardo) came when the STR07 stopped at the end of the pit lane shortly after lunch, with a drive shaft problem keeping Ricciardo in the pits just until the final few minutes of the day.
"The afternoon did not go to plan, but the morning was positive and we did all the runs we had planned for the first part of the day," Ricciardo was quoted. "We worked on making adjustments to the car balance, also trying some different mechanical changes to the car, which is why I did mainly short runs. I could feel the effect of these changes and the car reacted in the way we expected."
